We had a great time last night at the Phillips de Pury party! I met the fabulous Marc Newson (previous posts on Marc) – pictures of me and marc coming soon
I also really enjoyed all the fabulous historic pieces up for auction on April 30th. Here are some of my favorites:
And the star of the show – also the most expensive – Marc Newson’s Lockheed Lounge

‘Lockheed Lounge’ by Marc Newson 1988 for Pod, Australia £500,000-700,000

Is the Lockheed Lounge made from parts of a Lockheed airplane?
Comment by Kevin April 29, 2009 @ 5:05 pmI will have to give my friend Marc a call and ask him. If you look at his website (www.marc-newson.com) you can look at his airplace and space craft designs. I think you would find his stuff interesting Kevin
Any news from France?
Comment by Kelli April 29, 2009 @ 5:11 pmMarc talks about the Lockheed Lounge (how it was inspired, created and named) both here in video with Wired UK

Comment by Damon Garrett April 30, 2009 @ 4:20 amNot so sure about that “memories” cabinet. I would have trouble adjusting to the crooked drawers! LOL
Anyway, it was great meeting you Kelli at the show. Let’s keep in touch! Linda P
